Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. After moving into England from Greece when she was 16, she received a MA with a major in Economics from Cambridge University. As the first foreign student to be elected president of the highly regarded debating group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the position. Being a conservative syndicated blog following her graduation, she went on to become an influential voice for the Huffington Post. The fame of her name helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views on politics news and culture. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall election to succeed the former governor Davis. Alongside that, she led the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media by Forbes in 2009, and was awarded 12th position on that list. In the same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media group in 2011, after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Though she was close to her father, it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her entire life. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities that she still is known for. As a 16-year-old the girl moved to the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debate group. As the third woman president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head of Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. The career of an anchor and reporter began after she graduated. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
