Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news site, is a television personality author, author and philanthropist. She was born in Greece and moved to England when she was sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. The first non-English student to graduate, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions that offered criticisms on the political landscape. The fame of her name helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna became famous after she was elected as an independent candidate in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. She was named The Most Influential Women in Media by Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th place in that list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. This included many AOL properties at the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos who was a journalist and management consultant. She was very close with her father, but it was her bond with her mother who has shaped her. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills that she's still known for. When she was 16 she moved back to United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the third and first female to hold the position of president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. In the years following after graduation she worked as a journalist and TV host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing her own novels with his assistance.
